SAN ANTONIO, May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Each month, Ingram Park Auto Center (IPAC) recognizes an individual or organization in the San Antonio area that goes above and beyond to give back to the community. Through the IPAC Extra Mile Award program, the South Texas dealership highlights those who are working to enrich the city and presents them with $1,000, which the groups will be able to put towards their charitable efforts and causes. The dealership’s May 2017 Extra Mile Award recipient is the San Antonio Food Bank.

Feeding approximately 58,000 people each week, the San Antonio Food Bank is able to provide food to individuals across 16 counties in Southwest Texas. Dedicated to providing nutritious food options for those in need, the organization offers quality items and ingredients for people throughout the area.

To create an environment of self sufficiency, the San Antonio Food Bank also offers education and strategies to help its guests thrive independently for themselves and their families. In addition to providing food, the bank offers job assistance, classes on nutrition, a farmer’s market and programs for seniors, children and pets.

From June 1, 2017 until August 18, 2017, the San Antonio Food Bank will be hosting Million Summer Meals for Kids, which will provide summertime food for children across the area who may not otherwise have an opportunity to eat a nutritious meal while school isn’t in session. Those interested in getting involved can either donate food, money or time to ensure kids across Bexar County receive healthy meals this summer. To get involved, visit the food bank’s event page today.

Through the IPAC Extra Mile Award Program, the San Antonio Food Bank received $1,000 from the dealership for its continued efforts in eradicating hunger and helping San Antonio community members get back on their feet.
